He said the implications of the policies are potentially huge due to the dynamic growth in online learning and technology improvements in schools, adding that the rate of acceptance and implementation of big data technologies will be faster in some regions.
According to a report, Arab governments are heavily investing in the widespread adoption of e-learning in the education sector through implementing specific policies to digitise schools.
This has contributed to the rapid growth of the e-learning industry as a whole in the Middle East and opened the possibility for further technological advancement in the region.
The report stated that the quick and widespread adoption of e-learning in the region owed much to specific government policies aiming to promote e-learning in schools and digitise the education sector.
“By 2016, the e-learning industry in the Middle East will be worth US$560.7 million with an 8.2 per cent annual growth rate. This is outpacing the global e-learning market as a whole, which has an average annual growth of 7.6 per cent.”
Also, most nations have adopted the system; UAE government invested in supplying 425 state run public schools with learning technology in a bid to ensure over 294,000 students have access to e-learning methods.
