Former Minority Leader of the Ninth Senate, Senator Philip Aduda, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aduda, a close ally of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was declared winner by the chairman of the party’s electoral committee and returning officer, Dr Gogwan Koptong Bangs.
Bangs said Aduda emerged after one of the aspirants, Hajiya Amina Zanna Ibrahim, announced her withdrawal from the race in the presence of security operatives and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Aduda expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates and supporters across the six area councils of the FCT and pledged to work for the unity and electoral success of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

He assured party faithful that he would mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and strengthen the APC structure across the territory.

Aduda also said the ongoing infrastructural transformation under the leadership of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had positioned the APC for greater acceptance among residents of the territory.

“You can see the massive transformation going on across the FCT in terms of roads, bridges, expansion of infrastructure and development across communities. Residents of the FCT now have every reason to continue supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu,” he said.

He also promised to sponsor bills that would improve governance and enhance the welfare of residents of the FCT.
