The wife of Senator Philip Aduda, representing the FCT, Mrs. Hauwa Philip Aduda, has embarked on a tour of rural communities across the six area councils to convince women to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates during the general elections
Mrs Aduda, while addressing a PDP women group at Alu/Mamagi village in Abaji area council last weekend, said she embarked on tour of all rural communities across the six area councils to meet with women and solicit for their votes.
She said it was important that women voted PDP candidates for presidency, national assembly and area councils in the February and March elections.
She appreciated the support women had always given to her husband, urging them to do same this time around.
She advised the women to “shine their eyes and not to allow any APC candidate to come and deceive them anymore”, saying the promises the ruling APC made in 2015 were not fulfilled.
“I know some of the APC candidates will come here to convince you so that you should vote for them but you should be wary of such people because they will end up giving you a token and at the end, you will not see them again,” she said.
The senator’s wife, who expressed joy with the overwhelming support from women of the community, further cautioned them not to allow the ruling APC candidates use money to buy their conscience during the election.
She also advised the women group to ensure they asked APC candidates what they had done for not only the community, but other villages across the six area councils whenever they came seeking for votes.
She cautioned the PDP women group against voting for APC during the February and March elections, saying “the APC change has brought hardship to this community, which I believe you will not vote for APC again.”
