The management of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has warned its customers in Kogi State against erecting structures and transacting businesses under high tension power lines.
AEDC Regional Manager, Mrs Amina Ibrahim, gave the warning during a safety sensitisation programme for its customers in Lokoja.
She said it was worrisome the increasing rate at which people build structures and carry out businesses indiscriminately under power lines without minding the hazards involved.
She said the AEDC has commenced the deployment of over 220,000 prepaid meters across its franchise states of Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa and FCT to ensure that all its customers are metered to put an end to the issues of ‘crazy’ bills which customers often complain about.
