Sales Manager, Julius Berger AFP Mr Uche Uzoewulu has described the first AfricaBuild Lagos exhibition held recently at the Landmark Centre in Lagos as successful.
AFP is the furniture production facility of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc that employs latest technology and machinery for the production of furniture.
Uche said, “This was a very well organized and executed exhibition. Congratulations to the organizers, exhibitors and most importantly visitors for a successful Africa build 2016 exhibition.”
The Sales Manager explained, “In general, organizers were inquisitive and very receptive to know more about AFP.
“Visitors were very impressed to discover that furniture can be made locally to not only meet but exceed international standards, and this is exactly our philosophy as AFP. 
“We are guided by leading industry standards in the quality and innovation and as an integral part of Julius Berger’s value chain, customers should expect the same quality and standards that have long been upheld by Julius Berger Nigeria plc.”
He said, “During AfricaBuild Lagos exhibition, AFP furniture production showcased its large capacity to execute large turnkey projects and high profile state-of-the-art projects, such as the National Assembly, Le Meridian Hotel Uyo, Central Bank of Nigeria, International Conference Centre, Nest Oil towers in Lagos among others.”
AFP’s product line features styling, featuring solid frames doors, wardrobes, kitchen wall panelling and partitions, ceiling panels, wooden floors, luxury sofas, chairs and window decorations.
With the addition of the state-of-the-art showroom in Maitama Abuja, AFP now offers its clients opportunity to experience display of furniture solutions.
Also speaking at the exhibition, the Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr Ganiyu Johnson charged professionals and professional bodies to see how a forum like AfricaBuild Lagos could help ameliorate the menace of collapsed buildings, traceable to poor quality job and inappropriate use of building materials amongst other factors.
The commissioner, who was represented by the Mrs Ebaide Omokore said Lagos is a sub national entity and it remains a hub for social and economic activities within the West Africa sub region.
He said Lagos State government has consistently devoted a substantial percentage of its yearly budgetary resources towards infrastructure renewal and expansion.
He said the actualisation of this dream also requires private sector participation and project management know-how as well as international experience and exposure.
He noted that the decision by the state government to improve infrastructure development is a deliberate policy aimed at improving the quality of lives of Lagosians.
AfricaBuild Lagos 2016 which opened 16 February 2016, was attended by government officials, diplomats, journalists and exhibitors.
