African Church Model Grammar School, Ifako, Lagos, has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the National Intellectual Development Programme (NIDP) debate competition for secondary schools in Nigeria.

Barachel College, Baptist Academy and Dansol High School, all in Lagos emerged second, third and fourth respectively.
The first and second runners-up, Barachel College and Baptist Academy, got N250,000 and N150,000 respectively while Dansol High School, which came fourth smiled home with N100,000.
About 700 students from 40 secondary schools attended the event tagged CAREER EXPO. The NIDP, themed ‘Stand Out’, is the brainchild of Caleb University with Zenith Bank Plc as the main sponsor.
Vice Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Nosa Owens Ibie, in his welcome address, thanked the Founder and Visitor of the Institution, Dr Oladega Adebogun for his vision and gallant strides.
Executive Director, Zenith Bank Plc, Dr Temitope Fasoranti who spoke during the Career Expo segment of the event titled ‘Developing a Creative Mindset in the 21st Century’, admonished the students to make their studies a non-negotiable priority by shunning all manners of social vices; encouraging them to carefully choose the appropriate career path.
