African universities are exploring ways to deepen online learning on the continent in line with global trends.
This formed the core of the four-day workshop by the Association of African Universities (AAU) held at the University of Abuja.
The workshop, which has in attendance participants from African countries and Nigeria, has the theme ‘Online teaching and learning management’.
Declaring the workshop open, the Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Michael U. Adikwu, said the essence of the workshop, organised by the Association of African Universities, is to look at the totality of online teaching and learning management and how African universities can take advantage of the online platform to deepen learning.
Commenting, Jephtar Adi-Mensah, Project Manager, Association of African Universities, said AAU is committed to contributing to quality education in Africa.
“As a part of our mandate, we organise workshops and build capacity of university staff,” he said.
