Bandits have freed a man, his three wives and four children after collecting a fresh N2m ransom and a brand new motorcycle at Anguwar Janruwa in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
City & Crime had reported that bandits on February 3, 2022, abducted the wife and two children after which the husband later took N2m to the bandits to secure their release but was also held by the bandits who it was gathered demanded another N2m and a motorcycle to free the man, his wives and the four children.
A relation of the victims, Dayabu Garba, who confirmed their release through telephone to our reporter on Sunday, gave the man’s name as Abubakar Idris, and the wives as Sadiya, Hauwa and Ummi.
He said the victims were freed on Saturday in a forest in Janjala community close to Kachia LGA.
He explained that, “Yes, the bandits freed the man and the members of his family on Saturday evening after they collected another N2m ransom and a motorcycle.”
The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, who also confirmed the release of the man and members of his family, said, “In fact, I went to sympathise with the man and his family this morning in a hospital where they are undergoing treatment due to trauma.”
There was no response from the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command on the development at the time of filing this report.
