Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Wednesday morning killed 29 people in Chukku Ngudoa village, near the Cameroonian border in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno state, witnesses said.
Resident Bashir Mukhtar said the attackers laid ambush on the farming and fishing community around 10.30am, operated for hours and left the village in blood and ruins.
He alleged that the incident happened days after troops were withdrawn.
It was gathered that many villagers around Gamboru and Ngala have fled their homes for fear of attacks.
Nearly 400 people were killed in Ngala on 4th May.
