The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has begun the distribution of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration certificates to 6,606 MSMEs in the Federal Capital Territory under the free business name registration of the Survival Fund project of the federal government.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony in Abuja yesterday, the acting Managing Director of the AEA, Mallam Shehu Abdulkadir, said the certificates provided would ensure more businesses achieve the eligibility criteria required to access funds and financial support.

“Today we are supporting the process of certificate presentation to 6,606 beneficiaries and we will ensure all certificates are distributed to beneficiaries in the area councils,” Abdulkadir said.

The FCT minister, who was represented by Secretary, Economic Planning Revenue Generation and PPP, Lukman Dabiri Agboola, said the survival fund, which was launched in 2020, was borne out of the need to support and protect small businesses from the effect of COVID-19.
