Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) has completed a major overhaul to its fire defence infrastructure.

A statement by the agency said the upgrade aims at boosting fire prevention, early detection and rapid response capabilities within and around its office premises.

It added that AGIS, the central authority responsible for managing spatial data and geospatial information in FCT, recognized the critical importance of proactive measures to mitigate fire incidents.

City & Crime learned that the recent upgrade represents a significant investment in the safety and well-being of its staff, customers land records and IT infrastructure.

With the upgrade, the agency is equipped with modernized systems and advanced technology to mitigate fire risk and protect its staff, infrastructure, stakeholders and especially the land records.

“The cornerstone of this upgrade lies in the implementation of advanced fire detection systems, cutting-edge technology, including state-of-the-art smoke detectors, heat sensors and flame dictators installed strategically throughout the key areas of the building,’’ the statement said.
