The Agora of Zuba, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Mohammed Bello Umar, has called on the 774 local government council chairmen across the country to establish skills acquisition centres to address the rate of unemployment in the country.
He made the call during the Qur’anic graduation ceremony of Madarasatul Hidayatil Islamiyya in Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT on Saturday.
He said the high rate of unemployment has become a major challenge for Nigeria, adding that the centres would absorb the unemployed youths and keep them busy.
He commended the management of the Islamiyya school and parents for encouraging their children to acquire Islamic knowledge which, he said, would also help to address social vices such as drug abuse and other crimes in the society.
The traditional ruler donated a plot of land to the management of the school to build their permanent school and advised the graduands to be disciplined.
Also speaking, chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, stressed the need for parents to enrol their children to acquire Qur’anic knowledge, saying it would help in putting such children on the right path to knowing and fearing God.
He congratulated the graduands for their efforts towards acquiring Islamic knowledge while assuring that his administration would continue to support the school in ensuring that it met the required standard.
The chairman urged the graduands to ensure they recite the holy Qur’an often so that they also impact the knowledge to the younger ones.
City News reports that 52 students graduated from the school and that prizes were presented to them.
