The Agora of Zuba, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Umar III, has urged residents to continue to maintain peace and harmony with one another irrespective of their differences.

Alhaji Bello, while speaking shortly after he observed the two rak’at prayers to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Zuba, urged farmers and herdsmen in his chiefdom to continue to sustain peaceful relationship.

He enjoined the Muslim Ummah and Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love and tolerance for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

He also appealed to religious leaders to always preach and promote ethno-religious tolerance, as well as foster peace and unity among the people ahead of the 2019 general elections.

“As we rejoice with our Muslim brothers on this auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, which symbolises sacrifice and obedience, I wish to urge our farmers and herdsmen to continue to maintain peace with each other,” he said.

The traditional ruler cautioned youths against taking advantage of the celebration to engage in social vices, adding that they should be law-abiding to constituted authority.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Zuba Central Mosque, Malam Adamu Haruna, stressed the need for Muslims to fear God and remain committed to the teachings of Islam.

Malam Haruna said every human being must account for their deeds on the day of resurrection, and therefore called on leaders across the country to remain committed to the service of God and humanity.
