Agoro slams N5bn suit on Osun monarch

In the suit number FCT/HC/CV/2050/2009 now pending before an Abuja Federal High Court, Dr Agoro, who is also the Owa-Itapa of Itapa-Ijesha, is claiming that his good name and business interest were greatly affected by the letter dated January 6, 2009 written to NUC over the registration of Olapade Agoro Business University by the law firm of Rufus O. Iwuola on behalf of the Elerinmo.

According to the suit, the Elerinmo had allegedly asked NUC not to register the business university on the ground that it was sited on a piece of land that did not belong to the NAC Presidential candidate.

Dr Agoro is however praying Justice Sylvanus Chinedu Oriji of the Abuja High court to grant an order compelling the defendant to retract by means of quarter page size publications on the front pages of three national newspapers for three consecutive days.

He described the letter as containing highly offensive, damaging, libelous and disparaging odium against him, adding that the letter had no justification whatsoever than malice, vexation, hatred and calculated intention to destroy his soaring business interest and political profile.
