Speaking to Trustsports yesterday on phone, the former Eagles goalkeeper trainer said it is Shorunmu’s time to serve the nation in that capacity.

He said some of them have played their roles and have achieved results to show for their contributions and so others too should be given similar opportunities.

Agu described Shorunmu as a capable replacement as he expressed confidence that he will give his best for the team.

He however said the new goalkeepers’ trainer has been there before and knows exactly what is required of him and should be ready to face the new challenge.

“I am totally in support of Shorunmu’s appointment. He is a friend and a former colleague. I know what he is capable of doing.

“My advice for him is to do what he knows how to do best. He was there before and this present challenge should not be too much for him to handle”.
