President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, announced the appointment of Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as the new Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
His appointment followed the retirement from the service of Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu in January 2021.

According to the Ministry of Interior, Audi emerged the top best candidate out of those that went through the transparent selection process.
Below are the things you should know about the man to pilot the affairs of the NSCDC:
• The 54-year-old Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi hails from Laminga Town, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
• He obtained his National Certificate in Education, NCE in 1992 from COE, Akwanga.
• The new NSCDC’s Commandant-General later got a B.sc in Physical Health Education [Second Class Honours Division] in 1995 from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
• Audi didn’t stop there, he went on to bag a Masters Degree in Public Business Administration, UNICAL in 2001 and then a PhD in Public Administration in 2014 from NSUK.
• He is presently undergoing another Masters degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at ABU.
• Also, he has attended many professional courses among which are: Basic and Advance Citizenship and Leadership Training Course, Shere Hills, Jos (1990); NSCDC Basic Training course (1998);. NSCDC Senior Management Course PTCK, Lagos (2006); Management Performance and Accountability Course, Dubai, (2008); and Combating corruption in procurement practice, UK, (2008)
• He belongs to several professional bodies, a few include Fellow, African Business School; Member, Institute of Fraud Examiners; Member, Society for Peace Studies and Practice; and Member, Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators(IICA).
• In addition, he has served in various operational, intelligence and administrative capacities before his appointment as the new Commandant-General by President Muhammadu Buhari.
