Ahmed who bagged the Ilorin Bankers’ Committee’s merit award spoke during the committee’s annual dinner and awards ceremony in Ilorin.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, noted that the state “is an agrarian society where small and large scale farming are practiced,” adding that “due to inaccessibility to loan facility, most of the farmers cannot procure basic equipment and inputs needed for modern farming.
“We will continue to provide the conducive and enabling environment for the progress of the private sector in general and banking sub-sector in particular. Kwara State is one of the very few states that have managed their resources so well. It has delivered on their mandate to the people even in spite of her number on the FAAC revenue ladder. This is apparently not unconnected with the support received from all banking institutions in the state,” he stated.
