The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, made this known while commissioning four key projects including a block of 12 flats Doctor’s Quarters, an Access Road, a block of 18 flats Airmen Accommodation and NAF Base Kaduna Reception Center under gone at the NAF base, Mando in Kaduna.
He said, “With every human being we populate, we grow in size, the Air Force is growing in size and we see we do not have enough accommodation for our officers and men. This accommodation is for the men, as you can see, we have changed the style of the houses, we are no longer doing what we used to do where the whole family would share a one bedroom flat, now we have changed it to a two bedroom flat where the parents can have a room separate from that of the children,” he observed.
He stressed that the main aim of the initiative is to provide for the welfare of the men and that of their families.
On his part, the Commander, 335 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Musbahu Soladoye said under the leadership of the present CAS, NAF Base Kaduna is systematically regaining its glory as No 1 Air Force Base; adding that various rehabilitation/construction works were approved and completed, new projects initiated, executed and commissioned, family of personnel are more empowered and personnel welfare enhanced.  
“Today’s occasion is therefore a great moment in the history of this premier Air Force Base. When our CAS took over the mantle of leadership of this willing, able and ready Air Force, he enunciated his vision for the Service. One of the key drivers of the CAS vision is to motivate personnel through infrastructural enhancement for excellent performance.
“The provision of the aforementioned facilities has greatly motivated the personnel of this Base, particularly in tackling our accommodation problem that has persisted over time. In line with your responsive leadership, Headquarters Training Command took a critical look at the state of our personnel and their families waiting to board transportation means at the Mando Gate. They are often exposed to rain and sunny weather conditions. The AOC therefore decided to construct a Base Reception Centre to provide shelters for personnel and their families coming in and going out of the Base. This is one of the four projects slated for commissioning as I highlighted earlier,” he said.
He conveyed the appreciation of all residents of Nigerian Air force Base Kaduna to the CAS for providing these presentable social amenities.
