Air force immortalises flight lieutenant killed in north east

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has immortalised late Flight Lieutenant John Ayonote Adams, who was killed during Operation Zaman Lafiya in the North East.

It named newly completed and furnished block of 10 single-room officers’ transit accommodation at NAF Base Kaduna after him.

The naming of the new building was in keeping with NAF’s culture of immortalizing its fallen heroes.

The Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Air Training Command (ATC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Mohammed Idris, represented the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, as the Guest of Honour at the commissioning ceremony.

During the commissioning ceremony, AVM Idris said the new block of flats was another milestone in the current NAF leadership’s quest to ensure that all its personnel live in befitting accommodation that would better prepare them to respond to various national security imperatives.

AVM Idris also seized the opportunity to appreciate the commitment of NAF Headquarters to speedily completing various ongoing developmental projects at NAF Base Kaduna.

The projects under execution, according to the AOC ATC, included classrooms for the National Open University Study Centre, perimeter fencing of the Base, the new Headquarters Building for ATC as well as residential accommodation for Principal Staff Officers of the Command.
