An Air Peace flight from Abuja to Asaba yesterday aborted take-off at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The incident occurred moments after the aircraft had accelerated to take off when the pilot aborted the procedure following a technical glitch.
The pilot safely taxied the aircraft back to the terminal while all passengers were calmly disembarked, according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitness said the incident triggered panic on the part of the passengers with some passengers breaking into prayers and songs of thanksgiving after the plane came to a stop.

The airline in a statement confirmed the incident saying the aircraft safely returned to the ramp in accordance with safety protocols while another aircraft was provided to continue the flight.
The statement said, “In full accordance with safety protocols, the aircraft safely returned to the ramp, and all passengers disembarked without incident. A replacement aircraft was immediately deployed to continue the flight, ensuring minimal disruption to passenger travel time.
“Our engineering team commenced a thorough inspection of the initial aircraft as part of our standard safety checks.
“We wish to reassure the public that safety is, and will always remain the cornerstone of our operations. The swift deployment of an alternate aircraft reflects our commitment to operational excellence and passenger confidence. We thank our esteemed passengers for their calm cooperation and continued trust in Air Peace.”
