According to the organisers, the call for entries for the competition closed on June 30, 2010 with about 300 entries received from all over Nigeria. An experienced jury panel reviewed the works and shortlisted to 50 participants in the first instance, and to 30 finally. The pre-set criteria for judging included; relevance to theme, innovation, technical craft, form/composition, subjective stimulation and emotional content.

An event to announce the winners and exhibit the 30 finalists’ works was held at the Civic center, Lagos on Wednesday,  July 25 2010.

To celebrate the winners and encourage creative development, another exhibition is scheduled to take place in Abuja, November 3 – 5 2010, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The three winning works will be featured+ alongside a further selection of other works by each winner.
