Ambassador Saheed Olatokunbo Akanmu, an entrepreneur and construction executive, has been honoured with the Golden Role Model Award by the Nigerian Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative (NYAGGI) in recognition of his contributions to infrastructure development, enterprise, and national growth.

The award was announced in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of NYAGGI, Alabi Akeem Abiodun.

Akanmu, a Yewa-born architect and Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Ashmark Global Resources Limited, was commended for his role in delivering major construction projects across the country, as well as his broader contributions to economic development.

According to the statement, his company has participated in key infrastructure projects, including segments of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Lagos–Calabar Highway, Sokoto–Badagry Highway, and the Sagamu–Papalanto–Ilaro road, alongside energy infrastructure developments such as CNG, PMS, and AGO stations.

The group noted that Akanmu’s leadership has earned him several recognitions, including an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) and induction as an Associate Fellow of the British American Institute, United Kingdom.

Speaking on the recognition, Akanmu dedicated the award to Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, citing his leadership style and contributions to public service.

“I dedicate this award to Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, whose empathetic leadership, infrastructural strides, and consistent empowerment of ordinary Nigerians continue to inspire my commitment to inclusive development and shared prosperity,” he said.

The statement added that beyond his corporate activities, Akanmu remains engaged in humanitarian service, youth empowerment, and nation-building initiatives.

NYAGGI described the award as part of its efforts to recognise individuals whose work reflects strong leadership and a commitment to national development.
