The Director-General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC),  Dr. Kashim Akor, has been elected Vice President of the Pan-African Productivity Association (PAPA). 

The election took place at the Association’s  General Assembly held in Gaborone, Botswana.

The Pan-African Productivity Association is an organisation of all National Productivity Organisations (NPOs) within the African Continent with headquarters in Midrand, South Africa.

The association provides a forum for promoting and sharing ideas and experiences on strategies, techniques and practices for productivity enhancement, accelerated economic growth and social development in Africa.

Benefits of the National Productivity Centre’s membership of the association include building the capacity of officers of member states, promoting and monitoring research studies on productivity, facilitating dissemination of the findings to African economies and serving as a pan-African clearing house for information on productivity enhancement in Africa.

Dr. Akor, while briefing staff and management of the centre, said PAPA has entered into a partnership programme with the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) that will ensure the training of over 40 officers of the centre in both Basic and Advanced Productivity Practitioners Course in Japan in the coming year.

The appointment is for a period of two years.
