Akwa appoint Tenger as new coach

Akwa technical director Charles Bassey told MTNFootball.com that the former Niger Tornadoes, Gombe United and Kwara United coach has been picked to replace Solomon Ogbeide, who has joined Warri Wolves.

“We have appointed Coach Justin Tenger as our new coach. He will lead us next season. The decision was taken on Thursday,” Bassey said.

Last season, Akwa placed 12th on their return to the NPL.

No-nonsense Tenger has recently interviewed for the top job at another NPL outfit Kwara United.

Last season, the Benue State-born coach could not save Tornadoes going down from the Nigerian top flight.

The Minna club finished 17th on the table with 48 points from 36 matches.
