Akwa Ibom wins cleanest state award for fifth time

Akwa Ibom State has been adjudged the cleanest state in Nigeria for the fifth consecutive time.

This was revealed by the chairman State Waste Management and Environmental Protection Agency, Prince Akpan Ikim, when he presented the award to Governor Udom Emmanuel at the State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting in Uyo.

Ikim ascribed the consistent wins to Governor Udom Emmanuel’s untiring support to the agency.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Ini Ememobong, who made this known in a press release, said “The governor congratulated the agency for their diligence and hard work, which has resulted in the state winning the award for five years consecutively.”

Ememobong also stated that at the meeting, Governor Emmanuel tasked members of his EXCO to put in more energy to conclude their ministerial assignments as the administration is winding down.
