The Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society of Nigeria (AISN) has urged Muslims to be steadfast and use the dictates of Islam in nation building for the interest of the country.

The Chief Imam of the organization, Ustaz Fuad Adeyemi, made the call on Thursday in Abuja in a statement marking the organization’s 19th anniversary.

He said that nation’s building is a commitment and a service for Allah sake, as there would be a day that everyone would be asked to account for all their deeds.

“The journey started precisely on the 6th January 2003 with the commencement of Al-Habibiyyah Academy where elites that thought they have missed how to read Quran were taught in four months. Soon after take the beginning of Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society for weekly prayers and Jumah services.

“Al-Habibiyyah Food Bank and Feed-the-indigent program debuted almost two decades ago have become a household name in the federation where, as at last program about 3,000 people were fed daily for the 30-day of Ramadan,” Adeyemi said. He also said that some of the organisation’s program had partnership with the American People through American Embassy in Nigeria, as well as the Jewish and Turkish communities in Nigeria.

He said, “Alhamdulillahi, Al-Habibiyyah has metamorphose into conglomerate that houses annual teenagers and youth program, women forum, relief services, health and HIV/AIDS program, multipurpose cooperative society, development of Al-Habibiyyah Islamic center comprising Jumah Mosque and other public facilities, street-to-school program for Almajiris, Do-something-Initiative has been empowering artisan with interest free loans.

“Also travels and tours for Hajj and Umrah. The Just Foundation monitors all electoral processes.

The same foundation had a support and grant from United States MacArthur foundation to promote accountability and transparency in Nigeria. Al-Habibiyyah that started in FCT now has presence in Kogi, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, Osun, Oyo, Lagos and Kaduna states.
