Why Lafia Airport now when local government staff are owed salaries and arrears and pensioners are daily on their departure lounge as a result of non payment? Lafia Airport is to be built in Gov Al-Makura’s village of Kwandere but what happened to the earlier approved N2.8 billion naira by the fourth Assembly last year as take-off grant of the said bad intentioned project.
The reason for this airport in his village might be that the governor is likely joining the elite’s class of private jet owners’ club and he will need the airport to land his new private jet, but must he use our money to build an airport for his baby eagle?
Many villages are wallowing in object rejection and poverty as no single presence of dividends of democracy is in their localities not even “stomach infrastructure” yet the same hamlet called Kwadere where Governor Almakura hails from can now boast of good roads, stable electricity, forcefully built all UBE Schools in the village without pupils, coerced the movement and building of ultra-modern market from the old Lafia market to his village, portable water supply, Haba!!
