The home-based Eagles will need to overturn the 2-0 deficit against the Ghanaians as they bid to clinch the ticket to the 2022 African Nations Championship, known as CHAN 2022 to be hosted in Algeria.

“I need more time to prepare this team. We need to have more games as I will need to teach and coach the player. You teach a player to execute an action and after the action, you coach. So it will take time. It is not only CHAN Eagles, all our national teams need enough time to prepare for competitions. So it is a process that goes with time,” he said.

He further said the players will overcome the fear that the fate that befell the Super Eagles may reoccur and give Nigerians the belief they can beat the Ghanaians.

“We didn’t anticipate what happened in Ghana but anything can happen. We didn’t have any friendly games before the game. I was among the technical group when we failed to clinch the World Cup ticket. This time, the players are very committed to it and we will overcome the fear. We have seen games where teams come back from 4 goals down, so it is very possible for us to come back,” he said.
