ALGON decries politicization of crisis
He implored them to continue supporting the government and relevant authorities
The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Plateau State Chapter, has condemned the attitude of some groups and politicians who are politicizing the crisis that bedevilled the state in recent weeks.
Speaking at a press conference in Jos Friday, ALGON’s Public Relations Officer, Ado Buba Abubakar, expressed satisfaction with the contributions of some traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations and certain segments of the press for their efforts in dousing tensions.

He implored them to continue supporting the government and relevant authorities in the task of building peace and ensuring security.
He also commended Governor Simon Lalong for his prompt response to the security challenges, as well as his peace efforts in calming down people’s nerves.
“It is our considered opinion that violence is an ill-wind which blows nobody any good. We call on all segments of our society to give peace a chance,” he said.
