ALGON, JOMSoN partner to fight multiple taxation

The President of the Joint Mobile Sanitation of Nigeria (JOMSoN), Mr. Dukeson Godwin, has disclosed that the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has requested the partnership of JOMSoN to help fight the multiple taxation being imposed on members of the public by local government agents.

Speaking to Daily Trust recently in Abuja, Mr. Godwin said the partnership would take effect from January, 2020.

He said local government agents were in the business of extorting different forms of taxes from motorists on highways, hence there were complaints from different quarters, especially from transporters.

Mr. Godwin said ALGON decided to engage the services of JOMSoN because the association which was in the business of revenue generation on behalf of local and state governments had presence all over the country and would be able to fight the menace wherever it was reported.
