Governor Hycinth Alia of Benue State yesterday swore in some of his new appointees.

Those sworn in were Prof. Joseph Alakali  (Secretary to the State Government), Dr. Emmanuel Chenge (Principal Private Secretary), Paul Biam (Chief of Staff) and Moses Agbogbo Ode (Head of Service).

Performing the ceremony on Thursday at Government House in Makurdi, the governor cautioned the appointees against public and private conducts that will cast aspersions on his administration.

“You must be exemplary in both public and private lives because members of the public will judge my administration based on your conduct,” he said.

The governor stressed the need for Benue people to work together as one people with one destiny no matter where they are resident.

He said, “Let me call on Benue people from all the political divides to join hands to lift up the interest of the state. Politics is now over but the time to settle down for serious work is now.”

Responding, the Chief of Staff, Paul Biam, on behalf of the new appointees promised to abide by the governor’s counsel in the course of duty.
