The lawmakers resolved to invite Aliero after an emergency sitting on Thursday following the adoption of the Representative Ahmad Danjuma Kadanho-led 9-man Public Accounts Committee that investigated liabilities left by the past administration in the state.
A copy of the House resolution copied to Aliero, signed by the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Maigari Abdullahi Dakingari, reads: “You may wish to be informed that at its sitting of Thursday August 20, 2009, this Hon. House, having deliberated on the issue passed the following resolutions:-
“That you are called upon to prepare a complete handing over document and submit it in person to the State House of Assembly within the period of 45 days in order not to distort a standing tradition and create a bad precedent in the state.
“That you should also be prepared to explain to this House why your action of not preparing and submitting handing over notes should not be treated as an act of gross misconduct.
The House also banned Aliero’s former Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Samaila Salihu Bui, from holding any public office within the state for ten years for “giving false and mischievous information to the Kebbi State House of Assembly and the entire people of Kebbi State,” during the investigation.
