Victims of rainstorm in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi state have received donation of relief materials worth millions of naira from the state government.

The donation, which comprised food items and building materials, was handed over to the victims through the local government’s caretaker committee Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Hamma Futuk.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the chairman said the materials would help the victims in rebuilding their‎ damaged homes affected by the rainstorm.

Futuk promised that the local council would also complement the efforts of the state government by providing essential services to the people of area to improve their living conditions.

He added that the council would renovate dilapidated structures at maternity centers across the local government to ensure effective healthcare service delivery.

Responding, the community leader‎, Sarkin Duguri, Alhaji Ibrahim Baba thanked the state government for coming to the aid of the victims in his domain.

He urged the victims to utilise the materials donated to them for the purpose they were intended for and avoid selling them for peanuts.
