All is set for the annual street party, Calabar Carnival to hold this year.
The event which is themed ‘Climate Change’ has new events added to it for this 12th edition.
Following a successful third dry run, the state’s Carnival Commission said events for this year include carnival Christmas Day Music Concert to hold today, a competitive street party involving band kings & queens and a pre-carnival music concert for tomorrow.
A youth carnival and cultural parade, will hold on Tuesday as well as a bikers festival by the Metallic Knights Motorcycle Club, and Governor’s Ball.
Other events include a music concert and DJ Grand Slam for Wednesday, December 28.
Another introduction this year is the Green Carnival which will hold on Thursday as well as the International Carnival Segment/Competition, International Artist Performance and Music Concert.
Tinapa Resort will play host to the Dark Knight Motor Drift Rally and Stunt Display, Green Ball Sponsors/Stake Holders Dinner and the unveiling of the 2017 Christmas Festival/Carnival Calabar theme, and the Calabar Rocks Music Concert and DJ Grand Slam scheduled for Friday, December 30.
The month-long celebration will climax with fireworks on the 31st to usher in the New Year.
