The trial of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, for alleged money laundering before a Federal High Court in Abuja has been stalled due to the absence of an interpreter.
When the case was called on Friday, the prosecution counsel, A. O. Mohammed Esq informed the court that though the matter was for continuation of trial-within-trial, he was experiencing difficulty in getting an interpreter.
He said he was informed that the official interpreter of the court was on an official engagement.
The prosecution counsel consequently requested a short adjournment to enable the presence of an interpreter.

Defence counsel, Emmanuel Hassan Esq, did not object to the oral application.
Accordingly, Justice James Omotosho adjourned the matter to May 8 and 9 for hearing.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Mamman on 12-count charges bordering on conspiracy to commit money laundering.
