Reports of a member of the PDP collecting PVCs in exchange for fertilizer circulated early this week with allegations that the party was working towards reducing the voting power of the APC in Barkin Ladi and Jos North local government areas of the state.
APC chairman in the state Latep Dabang sounded the warning when he paid a courtesy visit to the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state Godwin Kwanga.
Dabang alleged that the PDP had resorted to underhand tactics, including the purchase of PVCs in the wake of recent postponement of the general elections and called on INEC to investigate the matter.
“We in the APC are aware that there are plans by the PDP to rig the governorship election in the state…. Our members have alerted us to the fact that PDP councillors in Plateau have been collecting PVCs in exchange for money. We saw people queuing up to collect bags of rice and fertiliser in exchange for their PVCs,” he alleged.
