Allen, who was formerly with Bukola Babes (now ABS FC) before joining COD United, was unveiled on Friday at the Oyo State government house in Ibadan.

The former ABS FC coach told SuperSport.com that he is satisfied with the terms of contract handed him by the Oluyole Warriors.

He also disclosed that he has penned a one-year deal with the NPL outfit.

“I’m happy and honoured to be appointed as the coach of a big club like 3SC with so much tradition. I’ve signed a one-year contract and I am ready to give my best to the club,” he told SuperSport.com over telephone from Ibadan.

Allen’s appointment as 3SC head coach takes immediate effect.

His appointment ends weeks of speculation in which former Enugu Rangers’ coach, Alphonsus Dike was reported to have secured the job.

3SC will kick off their 2011/12 season by playing host to Sharks on January 8.

Meanwhile, the club manager and former international Mutiu Adepoju has told Feverpitch that the highly experienced coach would surely take the Ibadan warlords to higher heights.

He said the coach was handed the responsibility after the management of the club critically observed his track records and ability to transform players.

Adepoju said the coach had proved his mettle in so many clubs and the new appointment is another opportunity for him to prove that he has something to offer the Nigerian Premier League.

The former Chairman of the club said the target for the coach is to ensure that the club performs well in the coming season and if possible grab a continental ticket.

He said: “We have settled for Coach Festus Allen because of his track records of achievements. He has proved his mettle in so many other clubs and we believe that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on 3SC.

“He has worked in so many other clubs where he transformed the players. We are going to work harmoniously with him. I have no doubt that if given the necessary support, he would deliver. His target is to keep the club in a comfortable position on the table and if possible win a continental ticket. I don’t think this is too much for the coach to meet”.

Adepoju in addition said many other coaches were interviewed before the management settled for Allen but that is not to say those who did not pick the job are not good.

“Many coaches were interviewed before we settled for him. This is however not to say we did not find them useful. They are all good coaches but we cannot take more than one at a time”, he explained.
