A coalition of APC geopolitical zones support groups has urged the ruling party to review its zoning arrangement for the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.

The North West Coordinator of the group, Abubakar Ali Bagwai, in a press briefing in Kaduna yesterday, lamented that the North Central had been neglected in the sharing of top political offices both at the executive and the legislature despite the zone’s significant contribution to APC success in the last presidential poll.

He said North Central should be allowed to produce the next deputy Senate president in the spirit of equity, inclusiveness, and justice.

“We urge a review of the APC National Assembly leadership zoning arrangement and appeal for the inclusion of the North Central. The zone is deserving of the deputy Senate president position given its performance in the recently concluded 2023 general election.”
