The coalition said at a press conference in Jos through its convener, Aluko-Daniel Steve: “We need to ensure that darkness does not once again descend on our country. We are insisting that nothing must change the new dates of March 28 and April 11.”
Steve stressed that elections must be allowed to hold on the new dates as postponing the elections would result into a constitutional crisis which the military could exploit. He said that Nigeria was on the march, adding: “No one will be able to halt the decisive will of the people for democracy and sustainable livelihood.”
He said the coalition would mobilise Nigerians to stand hand-in-hand and speak with one voice against “electoral terrorism,” polls shift, attempt to introduce an interim national government and military incursion into politics.
