Alumni pay medical bills of 50 indigent patients

The Bayero University, Kano (BUK), 1992 Alumni Forum, yesterday, paid surgery and medical bills of 50 indigent patients at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) and the Murtala Mohammed General Hospital in Kano as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

Addressing newsmen during the 25 years anniversary, the organising Chairman of the forum, ACP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, stated that the forum also paid registration fees to the tune of N1m for 25 indigent students drawn from different faculties of the university.

He also said they had donated food items and essential drugs to the Kano Motherless Babies Home and the Torrey Home.

According to him, the forum had so far spent N2.2m in the maiden edition of the alumni’s social responsibility scheme, stressing that the gesture would now be an annual event.
