AMAA for June, gets new CEO

This year’s event was shifted to honour, late Michael Anyiam-Osigwe, elder brother of the founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, who passed on recently.
 According to Tony Anih, Director of Administration, “Michael has been a great pillar of support for the AMAA since its inception and his death has sure thrown some immediate challenges to us as a body, but we are pressing on and we have to change the date from the traditional month to April to June to allow us prepare and respond to the current realities. We will announce the actual date for nominations and the main award in April and June soonest,” he said.
The AMAA entries which would stop at the end of this monthe are  from Africa, South America and the Caribbean Islands.
Meanwhile, Dayo Ogunyemi has stepped in as the new AMAA boss. he has   served on the board of the African Film Academy (AFA); and as a film law expert for the WIPO, he  has spent the past two decades at the confluence of entertainment, media and technology with employment experience with Booz Allen& Hamilton’s media and technology practice, Sony Music Entertainment Inc., and BMG..
 Anyiam-Osigwe now presides over the AFA board and also  promotes the course of Nigeria’s North East, with the hashtags #No BAGA, #we are Baga.
