The chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zaka Maikalangu, has cautioned council staff to demonstrate greater accountability, discipline and commitment to service delivery, warning that misconduct will not be tolerated.

Speaking during a working visit by the Administrative Secretary of the Area Services Commission, Maikalangu expressed concern over the leakage of sensitive information and refusal to follow directives.

“Staff should follow the instructions of their directors and department heads without question. Public servants should defend council decisions and policies at all costs,” he said.

He stressed that unauthorised disclosures undermine public trust and disrupt council operations, adding that offenders could face redeployment or dismissal.

While commending staff for contributions to rural infrastructure and community services, the chairman urged them to embrace transparency, unity, and professionalism in meeting the council’s goals.
