The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) recently provided free medical screening for diabetes and hypertension to residents at the Garki Village Primary Health Centre, Abuja.

Dr. Anthony Orji, Chief Medical Officer of the Pharma Healthcare Department at AMAC, stated that the exercise, sponsored by the AMAC Chairman, Mr. Christopher Maikalangu, was highly impactful and received positive feedback.

He noted that the free screening is part of AMAC’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery and promote healthy living across the council’s communities.

By detecting diabetes and hypertension early, he said AMAC aims to reduce complications and enhance the overall well-being of its citizens. (NAN)

“The screening identifies people with diabetes and hypertension, offers counseling, and refers diagnosed patients to Primary Health Care Centers for treatment,” Orji told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
