The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has said the council will not condone absenteeism by its staff.
Candido, who made this known in a statement by his chief press secretary, Dayo Lawal, while inspecting the council’s secretariat annex in Apo following the relocation of three departments, said any member of staff not found on his duty post would be sanctioned.
The chairman urged the new administrative management of the council’s annex secretariat to be steadfast in ensuring that the secretariat took a proper shape.
Members of staff of the council’s health, agriculture and environment departments were relocated to the annex which has been named after Zephaniah Jisalo, a former chairman of the council and the House of Representatives from AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency.
The chairman, who observed that more needed to be done to ensure a befitting status for the secretariat, urged the staff posted there to brace up for effective productivity.
