The FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has inaugurated 30 units of vehicles donated to commands and divisions of the police by the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

While inaugurating the vehicles, the minister said the donation arose from the AMAC chairman’s desire to contribute in assisting the police in fighting crime within the area council in particular, and the FCT in general.

The minister observed that with the increasing reliance on technology, it was becoming more and more essential to secure every aspect of the environment, noting that security began with prevention and basic knowledge.

Earlier, the Chairman of AMAC, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, said the gesture was to collaborate with other actors in the fight against crime in the nation’s capital.

The highpoint of the event was the handing over of the keys of the vehicles to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) by the FCT Minister of State.
