AMAC microfinance bank to be ready in April

The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has said the council’s microfinance bank will be operational before the end of the first quarter of 2018.

Candido said the bank would encourage low income earners to engage in business by granting them ‘small’ loans.

“There are certain issues that are part of our blueprints, some were done and some are yet to see the light of the day. By the grace of God in the first quarter of next year we should be seeing the AMAC Microfinance Bank in place,” he said.

He said the bank would help disabuse the minds of the youth about white collar jobs, adding that it would give out loans to encourage entrepreneurship.

“We are going to encourage the low income earners among us to patronize the microfinance bank which already has been licensed to commence service,” he explained.

Candido said he hopes before the end of his tenure to construct additional three primary health care centres and also complement the effort of the primary education board by equipping some schools.
