Ramadan: Muslim faithful urged to pray for progress and unity of Nigeria

As Muslim faithfuls globally begin the Ramadan fasting , they have been urged to use the period to pray for the peace, progress and unity of the nation, states and as individuals.

Retired deputy clerk at the National Assembly, Olayide Adelami in his message to the Muslim said Ramadan fast teaches self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, tolerance, justice and empathy for the less privileged in the society.

According to him, the month of Ramadan is filled with blessings and it is appropriate to wish Muslim brothers and sisters well at the beginning and through the month.

Adelami also the coordinator of Ondo state presidential support group for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last election, encourages Muslim faithful to move closer to Allah.

The Holy Month of Ramadan, he further said is the period where the Muslims observe dawn to dusk fast to cleanse the soul and come closer to Allah, the Most Beneficent, and the Most Merciful.

The former bureaucrat hopes the Ramadan would promote continuous brotherhood, compassion and love for fellow citizens and strengthen the bond of unity and amity among different communities living in the state and the country.

Adelami urges the muslim faithful to use this season to intercede in prayer for Nigeria and her citizenry, also for the continued success of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN. Ondo state Governor.
