Amaechi: Daura Emirate doesn’t give titles anyhow, says Emir

Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq, says the emirate does not give titles anyhow.

He said this while justifying the turbaning of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, a businessman.

While Amaechi received the title of Dan Amanar Daura, Danu was honoured as Tafida Babba Daura.

Speaking while performing the ceremony, the monarch said the title was in recognition of the minister’s contribution to Daura, Katsina and the country at large.

“Daura Emirate does not give title anyhow but to people who deserve its tittle like the two we are recognising today.”

“We’re indeed grateful to the Federal Government, political leaders, traditional as well as religious leaders from all parts of the country for honouring our invitation witness the occasion,” he said.

The emir also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, who hails from the town, for his leadership.

“My speech is not complete without showing gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari. I call on all Nigerians to continue their support and prayers for the President as he navigates our great country through numerous challenges.”

“We pray for Allah’s guidance and protection for him as he pilots our country towards economic revitalisation, progress, and development,” the monarch said.
