Ambassador Alan Peter Adeboye has been honoured with a recognition award at the 2026 Iconic Africa Summit & Honors, held on Friday the 13th of February 2026 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The award was presented by His Excellency Kembo Mohadi, Vice President of Zimbabwe, alongside Honourable Tinoda Machakaire, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth Affairs, in recognition of contributions to youth development advocacy and leadership promotion across Africa.
The 2026 edition of the Iconic Africa Summit was convened under the theme “The Africa We Want: Sustainable Development; Everyone’s Responsibility.” The continental gathering brought together policymakers, development practitioners, diplomats, private sector leaders, and youth advocates committed to advancing Africa’s development agenda.
The summit featured high-level discussions on regional integration, sustainable economic growth, climate responsibility, and youth empowerment within the framework of the African development vision and the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Notable participants and honourees at the summit included continental leaders, cultural ambassadors, and development champions recognised for their contributions to governance, innovation, and social impact across Africa.
The recognition of Ambassador Adeboye further underscores his work in youth diplomacy and leadership advocacy in his capacity as Special Envoy on Youth Affairs of the International Forum for Peace and Diplomacy.
Speaking on the significance of youth inclusion in Africa’s development trajectory, the summit reinforced the central role of young people as active drivers of economic, social, and technological transformation across the continent.
