The Oba of Ikateland in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III has described Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as a change agent whose tenure would increase the pace of development in the state.
The monarch stated this while commenting on Ambode’s performance since his inauguration eight months ago. He said the Ambode administration was on the right track to providing the much desired infrastructural, economic and social development.
He said with what the government had been able to put in place within eight months, “it has become necessary for Lagosians to understand that the state has just entered another era of performance in infrastructural development and social welfare.”

He added: “As the traditional ruler of Ikate Elegushi Land, the welfare of the people and development of Lagos State are most paramount to me. My role as a ruler is to influence, initiate and drive development, and I am happy to find Governor Ambode a willing partner.”
The monarch also noted that since the country returned to democracy in 1999, Lagos State had benefited from quality leadership, adding that this was evident in the quantum of progress recorded by the state in the past 16 years.
Oba Elegushi enjoined Lagosians to be patient with Ambode “who has just settled down to deliver the dividends of democracy to the residents.”
